i would say if you don't want it too strong, go with 1 10" or 1 12" depending on if you want bass that penetrates you or bass that just vibrates you. you need an amp and an amp kit (power wire, ground wire, remote wire, rca's). if your HU does not have rca outputs then you will also need an LOC (line out converter) and splice that into your rear speakers. like the system i have, i have 2 12" SQ subs at 400 rm each, an 800 rms 2ch amp, and it sounds very nice. i spent maybe 500-600. it just depend if you want SQ or SPL.
send me a pm if you have any question.
shit i forgot about my hu model. brb while i go check on it
as for the rest, i guess im looking into 2 10's then. i dont want to go with 1 bcuz i think 1 is ugly alone. lol. anyways, my hu doesnt have anything that has to do with subs. all it has is 6 or 7 equlizer functions.
your rca outputs will be on the rear of the deck. they will not always says sub out. if you have just one, it should say line out. if u have 2, they should be front out and rear out. if 2 is the case, you want rear. if you have 3 (which i doubt from what you just said) then you'll have rear, front, and sub
no i mean it doesnt have any sub buttons that people were talking about to turn the bass on or off, unless we are all just mixing up what eachother says
Pioneer DEH-2600 or DEH-26
the front of the manual had both like this
DEH-2600
DEH-26
a toggle switch...yes
nice, so i could get a betterish end system and turn it off, wait do the subs still run with the amp off? just not all the bass rite?
subs only run when the amp is powered.
and that headunit has 1 2v preout so you can hook up the amp
...pain is temporary, pride is forever...
on that HU you do have 1 pair rca output, so all you need is about 17' rca cables
just remember to tune your amp with the gain knob to just before the sub clip or less. just remember, it isn't a volume knob
ok then we were getting it all mixed up, or atleast i wasnt explaining what i meant. i dont have a way on the HU to turn the subs on or off. im glad i have a hook up tho :] can i power 1 amp and 2 subs from it?
the amp powers the subs, the headunit sends the signal to the amp.
for arguments sake, you could power an amp and an unlimited number of subs since the amp is what controls the subs
and i would be very surprised if you cant turn the subs off through the headunit, i know its a base model unit but i had a cheap alpine one that only had one preout but i could turn my subs off no problem
...pain is temporary, pride is forever...
so i just need to get a switch like for my streetglow and the subs can go off anytime i want? that is awesome. i could deff get a better system then
i have a few questions about what i need tho, lets say i go all pioneer, i go with 2 10s that are 600W each, do i only need 1 600W amp?
first of all, never go by max power ratings. you need to match the RMS ratings, but some companies tend to overrate or underrate their power ratings.
for arguments sake, a 600 watt RMS amp could power 1 600 watt RMS sub or 2 300 watt RMS subs or 3 200 watt RMS subs, and so on and so on
...pain is temporary, pride is forever...
nycking, in the manual, where would i find the info on that?
