Right above my head. Sometimes less then 5 feet away. It was so windy that they just hovered in place over a group of guys fishing on the lake. It was funny to see a few get knocked to the ground by a huge wind gust. They would get right up and start flying again.

The birds are shot manual, but the squirrel was shot on auto since I was talking on my cell phone and holding the camera at the same time. I could not make any adjustments with one hand so I swithced it to auto. The little guy walked right up to me and just watched me.
