I have 17x7 wheels with 225 tire on there and Im lowered 2 inches. No rubbing.
got some questions for you all. whats the ideal wheel width if were to get new wheels i was thinkin 7.5 but what offset would i need to get so that if were to turn all the way left or right it wouldent rub i was planning on getting 17s and eventually getting lowering springs and i wanna do this right. also what does 7.5 translate to in tire width, like a 215?

I've got 17x7.5 Evo VIII wheels. I had fender rubbing in the rear from them being too tall but no problems with the front when turning full radius.

well i was planning on getting a 50 sidewall because some of the roads in my area arent so great. if i were to get a 7in wide rim what width would the tire have to be? and will a 45mm offset stick out at all because i want it to be flush with the fender.
45 offset is good, it will be like stock but taller since you are doing a 17 wheel, stock offset is 46 or 47 I think. I would say 215 is good.
I am gonna see about what Kevin is rockin (4-G-rim)... 17x8 with a +35 offset and 225/45 tires no rub. That is a pimp look on a lowered 7g
