Try some noise filters.
Ok So the other day all of a sudden a wierd noise starts to play threw the speakers. its like a whinning noise. and when im driving you can hear the engine rev noise threw the speakers. and when i turn the radio volume from 01 to 00 it makes a popping noise. i have done recrimpped all the wires checked both grounds and cant find the problem. Any ideas what this might be?
Try some noise filters.
Then it will have to be a ground.
If you are using RCA wires, make sure they aren't close to any power wires. Also if you are running Head unit to EQ to Amp, be sure none of those are crisscrossing. I had this same problem until I put some space between them. If all else fails, get an engine noise filter. Its a cheap and easy fix.
sig too big
bad battery, alt going bad, poor crimps (solder instead), bad ground
Run the Speaker Wire and the Power Wire on Opposite Sides of the Car. That should clear it up... But, if it doesn't you have Alternator Noise. You have to find a better Ground Source. Either on you Stereo or your Amp. Just look for the biggest and unpainted bolt that your Ground Wire can reach. Which your more than likely hearing the buzzing get louder when; you let off the Gas Pedal and then Repress Quickly. Best of Luck!
Replace the RCA's..
also do you have any electronics very close to your HU? I've seen a friend that had a DSR right above his radio and it caused alternator whine.
why did you use crimps? solder and use super 33 electrical tape..
also make sure ur RCA's arent coiled up (the slack) like under a seat or anything.. this will also cause feedback to the amp..
ZIGONATOR
ZIGONATOR
I don't think he's using an amp. He didn't mention it. Do we even know what gen he has? I can't speak 8G's, but for 7G's you don't need to use the ground wire, because the factory bracket acts as a ground.
^ doesent make a diff if u check continunity, the radio brackets are fine to mount ground to.
ZIGONATOR
i think he was talking about using the actual head unit as a ground
High pitch whining that changes as your engine revs, get a Ground loop isolator; thats of course if you have a good ground already.
