Will a '95 Eclipse Turbo Tranny fit?

Hi, I have a '95 Galant with a transmission that took a dump last week. No forward reverse, noise or slipping. Checked the fluid levels, fine with no burnt smell or look. I suppose probably the front pump. I was wondering if a transmission and torque convertor from a '95 Eclipse Turbo would fit.
    thanks,
    Andrew

Actually there are people that would argue that it would. Check out the 4G64 newsgroup and ask them about it:

You might need to do some modification to get it working

he is right, the flywheel is built in to the torque converter on our transmissions, it won't fit

Thanks for the info on the transmission. Since it stopped working with no noise or warnings, does it sound like the pump went out? If so is that real expensive to change out, or would the whole transmission need to be rebuilt?
    thanks,
    Andrew
