    Steering problems (while almost stopped)

Sometimes when turning into a parking space, or turning while almost stopped, my 8G (2000 Galant ES 4Cyl), will feel as if the power steering is gone. Other times, it's okay. Is this a symptom of a larger problem, or could it be something as simple and a bad vacuum line or trapped air in the PS system?

I just recently bought this and mostly have experience working with MKIII Supras and old hotrods. I haven't really looked into this issue yet, but hopefully someone's already experienced/resolved it before. Thanx in advance....

Dealer's not an option.....warranty is out. 87K miles..... I have had a few Supras and am pretty knowledge-able about everything with them, but am new to the Galant community. Just recently purchased it and figured there'd already be a decent knowledge base for known issues/solutions. I found the Factory Service Manual and will just troubleshoot using the PS section. Hopefully it's just a kinked hose or something stupid..... Thanx anyways... I'll post the solution if I find one....THANX

I am right where you are mileage wise. I just think our power steering pumps pretty much suck. When I first get moving, even after warming the car up get hesitation from the PS.
