need help with tire size for 17"rims asap
i need help with the tire size that im getting offered with a tire and wheel package they are giving me 205-40-17 is this a good size for my 8g-ride.and what would be the offset for 17 inch rims.

225/45-17 is your best bet as that will put you at an exact ovearll diameter from stock (+2.4 mm off of OEM overall diameter, +1.2mm radius), as a perspective tires lose more than that through tread wear). Your next bet is 215/45-17 (-6.6 mm off of stock, still excellent as compared to stock).
205/40-17 is WAY OFF SPEC, at -36.1 mm off of spec(overall diameter), your about 1 1/2 inches off OEM. Go with the above suggestions.
Enjoy
PS-The proper offset is the same for all sized rims 15-19"
