Yeah this is a really common problem. My dealership wanted to charge me 50 bucks for the repair and I said heck no I'll just keep it locked all the time, as it should be anyway.
For the last few month I have had a rattle coming from my glove box that has just about driven me insane. Finally I decided to tear the thing apart to find the problem.
It turns out that my lock was the problem. The locks aren't really secured very well so they are pretty easy to remove them with the key. Somehow mine had gotten really loose and would rattle. After taking it out completely the rattling stopped but then I had the huge hole in the glove box. To solve this problem I wedged the lock back in after turning it 90 degrees clockwise so the keyhole was horizontal.
Problem solved.
I hope this helps some of the others who have experienced this rattle as well.

theres a new latch assembly available that will fix this problem
Yeah but dealership labor is a killer...is there any way to install this by ourselves? I paid 6.95 for the speaker delta sash part itself, but 90 bucks for the tech to spend 15 minutes fixing it. I'm not gonna do that again.Originally Posted by manybrews
