the trigger for the relay coming from the dome light is a switched ground.
Hey Fellas I got a set of rear diamante lights i wanna wire in now.. I'm figuring I'd have to do a relay if I don't wanna blow any fuses..question is I wanna tap into the wiring that has turns on the front light when you unlock the car lock it when you open a door etc..would the dimming function for the rear lights still work if its on a relay?also would just a reg 30amp relay be fine its not gonna draw no were near that amount of power?
the way i'm looking at it...pretty much the same as the headlight harness I made

Why not just tap into the dome light wiring?
those lights dont draw much so i highly doubt it that you gonna blow any fuses, jefflou and zobagel had those for a while and i believe they just tapped straight in the dome light and they never reported any problems, you can always replace the fuse with a slightly bigger one but that isnt needed
if im wrong some please correct me

Shouldnt blow a fuse at all. After all the neon lights ive installed in my car, the only time i ever blew a fuse was when i installed my HIDs, and 7in DVD player. And when the fuse did blow, it was a puny ass 7.5 amp for my dashboard lights.
if you run a relay for the c-pillar lights, they are not going to dim with the dome lights.
