    Tranny cooler?

In front of the radiator on the pass side theres a lil tiny radiator, I followed the lines and it goes into the tranny, then the other end of the hose comes out of the tranny, into the big radiator, from the big radiator out and into the lil radiator...

Why would they do it like this??? Why not just have the lines go directly to the small radiator to cool the fluid, or directly into the big radiator, why split it like that?

    because it regulates the temp.
it is NOT a good idea just to cool it, as a lot of these cars see cold winter driving, and running a transmission with fluid thats at 0 degrees is as bad for it as overheating it.

it goes to the external cooler first, then back through the radiator, in an attemp to keep it at about 170-180 degrees.
