Swapping out ECS struts on a *89* Galant GS

I'm new here so a big hello.

I searched the forum and didnt find any matches, sorry if this has been covered before.

I have a 89 Galant GS with ECS and the front struts have blown for the third time (I have 230k miles) and I'm sick of paying the HIGH price for factory replacement struts.

My question is, can I buy KYB GR or AGX struts and drop them in?

Will the car ride lower with springs for ECS and standard struts?

What parts will I need to buy to swap out the ECS completely?

Any better suggestions?

Are you outside of the US? I am asking because there is no GS for the 99 Galants in the US, and there is no ECS. If you are in another country, you should try the International forum. If not, please accept my apologies.
