Over-sized Oil Filter

Anyone using an oversized oil filter in their 2.4L motor? If so, can you tell what type is compatible (K & N make, if possible). I intend to use it in a 97 galant ES, auto, 2.4L, L4. Thanks.

you should be able to use the filter from 1g eclipse no problem. its at least 30% larger.

Valvoline makes one thats about 1" larger in diameter and about 2-3 inches longer.

it always bugs me that the oem filter looks like it might be barely too small to fit on, i feel like there's so much extra lip left over

Thanks guys. I seached but still could not come up with the part numbers for the larger ones. The 2.4L engine has lots of space for a bigger filter, so why should we settle for the puny one?
