    problem with fuel gauge

So all the sudden, my fuel gauge raise very slow takes about a day to go back after I fill up my gas. What does that mean?

your sending unit could be faulty, or a loose or bad connection some where. or maybe the guage isnt reading what the sending unit is saying properly. my guage always takes about 5 minutes to fully read what the gas level is, but its always been like that. but for it to take all day, somthing is wrong.

could be the gauges or it can be the float on the fuel pumps sending unit.

Not how fast your car goes but how good u drive going fast.

first thing i would do is pull out the sending unit, leave it all hooked up, keep the key in run and move the float up and down while watching the gauge.... does it move up and down fairly quickly with your moving the float??? if so how does the float feel?? should take next to no effort to move a float...

Hell mine does the same thing. Over the past 3 years its gotten worse. When my car says 1/4 tank i know its time to fill up. I just got used to it. No biggie. Why bother? Now if my speedo or my tach went out then id go fucking nuts.

yeah man its all in the tank... just pull the bottom part of your back seat and i believe (anyone feel free to correct me if im wrong, its been a while) theres two access plates, one for the fuel pump and one for the sending unit, pull the plate for the sending unit and pull it out. its a pretty simple contraption, just got a plastic float connected to an arm... leave it all plugged in and the key in run and move it. the gauge should move quickly but not instantly... if it does then the electrical side of things is good...

Nice, I have the same problem but i was hesitant cause I thought I would have to drop the tank. Didnt know I could just take my back seat out!
