Picked up the 5 speed from Jet Black earlier today :) along with a lot of other miscellaneous parts. I'm going to edit the first post and make a huge parts list of everything I've put on and will be putting on in the future

yea i am really excited to come back in the winter and do the 5 speed swap!

and I got my 3G GT strut bar today.. and it doesn't fit with the damn cruise control. oh well, guess I'll sell it.. or possibly fab something up using the mounting brackets. Either way, I like cruise control way too much to remove it for the time being. haha

hey now... it keeps me from speeding. I haven't gotten a speeding ticket yet, and don't ever plan too. Don't feel like payin $300

and I installed the rear sway bar that I got from lKorty. I'll be installing the front some other time cause I have a feeling it will take much longer

haha I dunno about you but I'm on the freeway ALOT. if i don't set the cruise at 65 and let it coast, then I'll probably drive 70-75, which may not sound fast, but could still get you a ticket :)

plus I'm pretty sure using cruise is slightly more fuel efficient because it gives just the right amount of air intake/fuel to maintain that speed, whereas with your foot, even if you might try to maintain at 65, you might be giving too much throttle at some points. This is just a thought based on the mileage gauge on our lexus though

Shoot me a pic of that strut bar man, maybe I will pick it up from you if you don't want it.

I get you with the cruise control...its nice, but I have driven so many vehicles now w/o it I don't even notice or use it on vehicles that have it lol.

I do not have cruise control, the cruise control sensors are different then that of the 5spd. + I already changed around the 3.5ltr throttlebody, so even if I could have cruise I could not use it. lol

Hmm.. I have my Diamante Plenum and TB setup and my cruise control still fits under the strut bar. Barely though... I'm guessing the slightly taller block height of the 3.5 makes just enough difference for yours not to fit.

yea the bar was sitting on top of the strut tower nuts, and it was already resting on the cruise control bell. If i remove the bell, then it will most likely still hit the metal frame around the throttle springs, and possibly even my throttle cable bracket in the middle of the manifold

oh and SPD_FRK, one of the studs on the strut bar mount is broken, so only one stud holds the bar to the mount. Supposedly it can be replaced with a stud from Lowes or whatever though. I'll have to check out Home Depot (their hardware sucks) and the Do-It Center (built my camber kit from 10.9 grade bolts from here, also replaced broken water pumps bolts)

thanks man! hopefully I see you again tonight!

    As for the dyno results:
    169.29 HP at 5629 rpm
    184.9 lb-ft at 4113 rpm

    what's holding me back:
    lack of tuning
    6G72 injectors
    auto transmission
restrictive exhaust (small diameter piping AND I still have both precats and the cat)

What are you gonna do about those things holding you back? What are you gonna change them with. Can't wait to see what you get after that and the 5 speed.

I really can't do much about the 6G72 injectors or the tuning because my 1999 ECU is un-tuneable (so far).

Once I get around to the 5 speed swap, I will swap in an tune-able Eclipse manual ECU. Then, I can run the 6G74 injectors. As for the exhaust, I really would like to keep the cats there for now, but we'll see where things go :)

    okay guys,

so I have the transmission, clutch pedal, a brand new exedy clutch disk, shifter assembly and cables, etc. etc.

essentially all that I need now is the master cylinder, some clutch lines, a shift knob and boot, and most important: a new pressure plate or clutch kit

for street purposes, the ACT street kit obviously seems like the best choice.. BUT its almost $500 (importcarpartsplus). There is a kit on eBay that comes with the ACT pressure plate, an exedy clutch, new release bearing, and alignment tool for $384 +18 shipping. Since I already have a brand new exedy clutch, I was looking around for just the PP by itself, but that is $390 on summitracing.com

SO does anyone know where to get just the PP for cheaper or does anyone have any dece hookups? ;)
