    94 GS engine/5spd

Well I found an engine and 5spd tranny in Indianna, this is what they quoted me for:

Part: Complete Engine Transmission (tested, very good condition)
    Price: $ 1449
    Shipping: $100
Warranty: Available up to 180 days
    Core: Not needed
    Total: $ 1549

so is it worth it? or should i just buy a whole car?

You know, Kelly's Blue Book rates the whole car between $2000 and $3000 depending on the condition. $1500 for the engine and transmission seems a bit excessive. Maybe you can bargain him down with this info. Check out www.kbb.com

you see, this is what im contiplating. if i actually find a 94 gs 5spd they usually sell for $2-3k, then i would have 2 options.

    1) Swap the engine/tranny into my galant, then put my engine/tranny back into the 94 and sell the 94
    2) Keep the 94, return my car to stock and put all my parts on the 94 then sell my car. Also swap bumpers between the 2 cars and maybe even the tail lights

i dont know what to do, my car is worth ~$7-8k so i would get a lot more money in selling my car.

I think I gotta hold off on selling it. I put way too much money (over $1200) into replacing the timing belt and various tensioners and pulleys etc. It would be hard for me to sell it now since the engine feels brand new again.
