very nice! picked those up from strizi correct?
Got home from work today to see a package at the back door. Opened it up and here's what's inside. I'm installing them this weekend for sure, and if it's not snowing Monday, I'm taking the car to St. Paul Auto for some dyno action.

Very nice. These v6 threads are making me want to get a v6 real bad. Keep us posted on the dyno #'s if you get it done. Pretty quick shipping time too.
Just a little bit of what's been going on lately. The headers didn't get installed like planned. I looked around under the car the day after receiving them and noticed I would have to remove the catalytic converter and purchase a section of exhaust pipe and weld flanges on each end. Being late in the year and running out of time, I decided against it until the 6G74 is ready to drop in. Which leads me to the next thing. The 6G74 block and crankshaft were brought to the company machinist yesterday and have been fully inspected and are fine. The block has been hot tanked and the cylinders have been freshly honed. Bearings and piston rings have been ordered as well. I cannot wait to have this back in my possession and get it put back together. Pictures will be up as soon as I get it back.

Finish this already! :)

I'm getting there Pete! The car is parked for the winter months, but I can still get it to a friend's garage where it can be worked on when needed. Expect a rebuilt 6G74 and 5 speed swap to be completed and running this spring :)

Bought some things today. Brake pedal, clutch pedal, clutch master cylinder, fluid reservoir, and lines. Getting the shifter and cables Monday morning. Don't mind the rest of the mess in the SHO's trunk. It's the only picture I could get at the moment.

Let me know if you need any help with some grunt work. You need to take down the Cookout trophy, cause I'm retired, and you can't enter with German cars. ;)

Whoa wait WTF?!!? What German car? Don't tell me the G is gone.

yeaa! five speed wooooh!
You know it! All I have left to locate are the cables, passenger side intermediate shaft, clutch slave cylinder, and the transmission itself. I still have some time to get this all together since I won't have my engine built for another 2-4 months and I want to drop it in all at once. So far the total cost of 5-speed swap related parts is $50, and here is today's pick-up.

I have an extra slave cylinder if you end up needing one. Also, if you go to my build thread, you can see total cost for everything I've done.
Oh I also have an extra stock flywheel, extra shifter cable brackets, and a brand new clutch disk (Exedy OEM style) but you're probably gonna want something more than that LOL
Thanks for the offer, but I'm thinking I'll just buy a new slave cylinder at work since I can get one for a decent price. Though I am curious as to which shift cable brackets you are talking about, but I will most likely wait and see if I get the brackets when I end up finding cables.

they're the ones that hold the cables in place on the transmission. I'm sure your transmission will come with them. If they don't though, feel free to shoot me a PM or something
Alright, thanks. I'll let you know if I need them when I get my transmission within the next few weeks.

Getting somewhere again. Here's a summary of recent events.
December 21st: The block, crankshaft, main bearings, rod bearings, thrust washers, and piston ring set arrive from the machinist.
Later on that evening, checking the plasti-gage specs for the main clearances.
December 23rd: Assembly lube on the main bearings, thrust washers, and crankshaft. Main cap torqued to spec.
December 27th: Installing rings on the pistons 1 at a time. Rings gaps in their proper locations. #1 Cylinder complete after plasti-gaging procedure.
While working on the 2nd piston, a hairline crack is noticed and chips off before install.
Disassembled pistons from rods, waiting for RPW to re-open from their holiday break so I can order my new pistons.
And of course, here is the car. Stored away, waiting for Spring.

dopesauce, when's the swap going down?
So far the goal is by the end of April. It depends mainly on the pace of everything coming together. So there is a chance if I get ambitious enough, to throw it in the car trailer and swap it all in the garage before winter ends. Who knows?
