Yea, do you really need an external wastegate, or just preference?

  2. #462
I have to run a external, which the precission turbo I'm looking at comes with the tial wastegate ill just modify my manifold I have now to make it fit. My hp goals have changed some but reasons will be know later when I finish drawing up some stuff to make this work. Now when I do my speed density shit I'm going have to move the iat back some and spray my meth after the iat I think lol or if I spray it before the iat ill dump more fuel too.

I dunno man, I have always been taught if you want to boost, you run low compression or things will detonate. Inless you plan on running like 3/4 PSI. Again, what fun is boost if you can't feel it hold you in your seat? I awlasy saw that (for me) perfect bost was around 20/25 PSI.

Guess I will see her when she is done. :)
You want to run the highest compression you possibly can. An 8:1 4 cyl would have zero fucking power/tq until boost came on which would suck to drive around. Run higher compression, higher octane, and less boost. "the lower the compression the better" school of thought is wayyyy outdated.

Perfect level of boost? You set a power goal and do what you have to in order to achieve it. With higher flowing parts (intake main/heads/exhaust etc) you need less boost to make the same amount of power. Or just keep stock parts on there and run 30lbs for ricer bragging rights. Unhooking your wastegate will help get you there.

Wastegate on O2 housing? So your muffler doesn't see too much boost?

Yea either way sounds baller to me. I'll need to ditch my trunk full of horsepower for some serious drift action.

letsrunem.. y u gonna be a smart ass.. you know on the stock O2 the wastegate dumps to the exhaust, if the wastegate is on the O2 it dumps to the atmosphere.. heres what im looking into

    http://www.slowboyracing.com/product...cat=593&page=1

i know its expensive, but if you dont have a mani that comes with a wastegate flange already and your running high boost on a big turbo this is perfect as it lets the excess out after the turbo, it doesnt let pressure build in the manifold before letting it out

They are both 60 trim turbos one is a little more expensive but it can directly mout to my manifold and I can get a 02 housing that will mount right up to it and use my 3" down pipe, so I can spend the extra 100 bux bolt it on or save the 100 bux and have to do more fab work. I'm going to have to modify my manifold for a wastegate or buy a new one with a external wastegate mount on it. (Posted from my phone might be messed up ill edit when I get home)
^_^ you wont be disappointed by my suggestion thats for sure!

the one that you showed still has to go to the hot pipe first, the waste gate needs to reconize boost to work, and the way to worded it made it sound like you where just going to have the waste gate on the o2 housing which i thought to myself was wrong, not to start an argument about it just how you worded it made it sound a little weird.

Oh and ivory if i am im giong to ban you lol JK JK thanks for the help btw

loool thats harsh dude! haha good thing you will love it! meh and the 6262 is like 600whp levels. my suggestion is 500whp+ capable and costs way less than a 6262.
