button shifting

i was looking in my service manual and i was trying to see if i could by pass the shifter adn just use an electronice button or do i have to move the cable that is connected to the shifter (it is a 4spd auto 97 es galant)

Level Ten offers one of those "shift like a manual" (Triptronic/shiftronic) kits for an auto... If I remember correctly it was like $1000-$1500.
