Megan cat back will be the best option as far as prices go. Or you could buy a muffler and have a shop custom build a catback.

Hey guys. I'm new here and have some questions about my car. The muffler is going, and the exhaust piping from the Catalytic converter and back is rusting and needs to be replaced. I thought that this would be the perfect time to install a performance Cat, muffler and piping into my car, instead of installing new OEM parts onto it.
My car is stock, no turbo, so I cant be putting in huge pipes or anything like that, which will cause me to lose back-pressure.I don't know what parts i need, other than a performance muffler and a high flow Cat. If you could help me out with this, that would be great! I have already searched the forum and didn't find anything that helped me.
I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Galant ES. I don't want to spend a huge amount of money either. Around 300 dollars or less.
Here are some pictures to show you what my exhaust system currently looks like.

Forgot to mention, I have a 1998 Galant ES. 2.4 liter. Would that system be compatible with my year?

Hey could get something for a 2g couldnt he ?
yes but he would have to get an extension welded in due to the length differences between the cars. In the mean time, in order to save money, just go to a muffler shop or meineke and get new piping put in. I had my car done for 150 bucks...2.5" piping all the way back. My muffler is a little more than most are willing to spend! LOL But without any major mods or anything and just getting the car running, that might be your best bet. Good luck
