dude...the car doesn't sit on the bumpstops unless the suspension is shot, if it does you need to replace your struts and your springs. it wont be any lower if he cuts them. it will have more travel though if he is hitting large dips and bumps. I didn't cut mine and haven't bottomed out my suspension anyway. I have tested it a great deal. already driven about 500 miles on new Tein's. bumpstop has nothing to do with drop, stiffness or anything but control arm bottoming out on the frame when you hit something to hard.
It probably sits lower in the back because his shocks are shot.
