You need to really scuff them up with a wire brush or wire pad. There is a plastic on it that if you paint over it without taking that off, you will regret it later. Then sand it smooth with fine sand paper after that and paint away

Just make sure you get all of that fake wood grain off. Little spots here and there are fine, but If you paint over it, the paint won't stick and it will react with something and make this "cracking" pattern all over the piece. It's fun to watch but a pain to sand it all off again lol.

I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this.

You don't have to remove the wood grain plastic crap on the pieces. Just use an adhesion promoter. Thats what I did, and its held fine for over 2 years now.

If you post stupid and incorrect information, you will get red nuggets.

Some also do a full black interior, that can be found somewhere on the forum.

    +1,000,000

Bulldog spray on adhesion promoter. Its available from most auto body supplies in rattle cans or by the quart/gallon to spray from a HVLP gun. Follow the instructions on the can and you will have great results.

I actually did that but I took all the paint off the door panels and left everything else black. It gets too hot in there haha.
