youll need the crank sensor and the sensing blade ( reluctor, i think its called) off the 96 motor, also the distributor and the intake manifold with TB.
I've got a 95 ES with a good engine and bad auto trans (has some body/interior issues). I was planning to move the 95 engine into a 96 S with a blown engine, and good 5 speed (body/interior are excellent). I was thinking it would be a simple engine swap but microgalant's "7g harness" post reminded me that there are differences in early 7g (94-95) and late 7g (96-98) engines. I think the obd system and location of the crank angle sensor were primary difference between the early and late 7g engines. 1) What other differences are there? 2) What should I be aware of if I do this? 3) What wiring issues do I need to be aware of?

Now that you mention it I am sure the distro does need to be moved. Just curious, what did Mits do differently with the intake manifold and throttle bodies on the 94-95 and 96-98 7g?

well, the MDP sensor on top of the intake mani for 96-98 and following the difference between the passage routing in 1g and 2g TB, Id guess that 7ga and 7gb have different routing in the TB. Im not sure about that, I could be wrong
yeah, the 96+ years has the sensor on the intake manifold right after the throttle body. you could always keep that sensor and just not plug it in if you want to use the 96's manifold.
