Never heard of anyone doing it. That would be sick! I wonder if you could use the convertible top off another vehicle instead of having to make one from scratch.
any one turned a galant into a convertible yet, i've been thinking about it
you do what you do because it feels good to ya

There was a post about this not to long ago. If you have the money to do it go for it. But its going to cost a shit load plus its not easy.
i WOULDNT recommend it.
cars that are "converted" into convertables are usually TERRIBLE in every sense of the word.
I remember when someone photoshopped it...
The 7G kinda looked gay, the 8G convertible was phatty though.
Also, they are all 2 door convertable.
Now trying for a targa top might be cool, or converting the car to a 2dr would be cool. I've seen a 7g with suicide doors which looked ok. I've seen a 2002 Jetta vr6 converted to 2 doors, that looked sick. a 2door 7g galant with targa top would be most impressive.
How was the Jetta converted to two door? Were the back doors just welded shut or did they fabricate a whole new longer door and cut out the side frame? I'm curious to know how they did it. Do you have any pics?

i know the 8g is a unibody design im not sure about the 7g
i saw a red chevy s10(coulda been a blazer i guess??) at the strip at myrtle that had a conv. top over the whole thing, back of the bed to the front windshield... so if he could do it, so can u with enough $$$
no top=speed. duh
A galant with a sliding ragtop would be really SW33R.
