Hi since I did the egine swap to put the 1994 engine, harness and computerbox in my 1996 galant, I had some issue with starting.
I've put new fuelpump, new plugs timming ok, but same problem.
Check out this video, cold start up.

When the car is hot, it start ok.
Will make that video
it sounds like the FIAV/ISC are all messed up. Time for a block off plate.
ISC = IAC Idle Speed control or Idle air control
So mko you mean this is the problem http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...QQSIAC250.html
holly shats!!! 320 bucks for this....no way man, dont spend it.
Im sure its the FIAV/ISC, but still its 320 bucks. Id rather buy a $10 block off plate and try it before spending 320.
Also, is the TPS adjusted?
and theres some wrong with the tachometer, IDK it seems jumpy
check out this thread
its about the same thing
Wel MKO that was the problem.
I've put a icv from a mirage 1996 and the car started right away but the check engine light comes on and off sometimes.
Today I went start the car, and boom another stupid problem.
I've put the cooling fan wires direct to the battery, but somehow the tape in the pos wire got loose and hit the neg wire (wich was not taped) of the plug that goes to waternek.
The car turns off after that,I went to start it again, it start and shut off, than I start it again and press the gas it stays on but idle very bad, and i can see batt and brake light in the dash keep turning on and off as the engine idle.
What to do guys think went bad?
Check your ALT fuse. Should be a big 80a fuse under the hood.

why did u swap to 94? is better than the 96? i ask that because my ex 94 was a indestructible motor, and the fkng 96 and the distributor are a crap, im tired of it

I'd agree with Rak_22 about the 94 motor being next to indestructible. I've broke at least 2 timing belts on my 94ES. Once was when I was barely moving and the other when going at least 75mph and without any problem of valves meeting pistons. The original motor is still going strong at 257,000 miles. I've wondered if it because it was an early 94 (bought in 1993) and maybe they had more clearance in the heads. Damn timing belts breaks almost exactly at 60K. If I remember right one broke with 60,001 on it.

Ok bronxbombr I'll pm you
Seth I've checked the alt fuse, it is ok, the car starts but idles very very bad.
When I rev it,it blows black smoke out.
When I turn off the fuelpump, the engine begin the idle smooth.
So it has something to do with too much gas.
Is there something that control the gas?
its the fuel pressure regulator, but it is set. its not electronically controlled
the fuel pump is controlled from the ecu thru the mpi relay. its not on at all times
with constantly turned on fuel pump youre probably flooding the engine
Well I've bought a new fuelpress regulator but problem persist.
I remember I put another good working idle control valve and the rubber seal wasn't in a good shape.
Maybe that is the problem that the car idle very bad?
hey man, block that damn thing and solve ur problems
