    A confusing problem

Ok... Well I am going to appologize right up front for not making any sense.

It's about my alarm. I have no idea if it is stock or aftermarket, so dont ask.

Ok, so i have the little remote that has the lock, unlock and panic. Fine. Whenever i press the lock button, my car locks. Fine. The green 'security' light on my dash lights up for about 3 seconds, but the red light (my alarm light) on my dash doesnt do anything.. just remains solid. ALSO, my car doesnt make a bleep-bleep-bleep, when i press the lock or unlock (yes, i just described it as a bleep-bleep-bleep sound). I just thought that my car wasnt supposed to make a bleep-bleep-bleep sound, until last night. I found a mini toggle-type switch under my dash which i played with for a while figuring out what it did, and then my car started to make those bleep sounds when i hit the lock and unlock. Also, after i would lock the door and apparently setting the alarm, the red alarm light on my dash would then blink. It worked for like an hour, until i had to move my car... after that i couldnt get it to work again. It just went back to the way it always was - simply locking and unlocking the doors, with no bleeps and no red alarm lights flashing.

I know this post probably makes no sense, but SOMEone has to know what the hell i am talking about.

That little toggle switch controls the siren and part of your alarm, when it is on the siren will sound and all is well. But when it is off the sirens dont sound and being that its a Mitsu your door locks will start acting funny. Should be a common problem if u ask me.

Not how fast your car goes but how good u drive going fast.

Hmm... the thing is, after i got the "sirens" (as you call it) working.. after i moved my car those bleeps stoped working... I didnt reswitch the toggle at all. The door locks never acted funny and the remote continues to lock my doors and unlock them.. so i have no idea. Whatever. Im so fed up with my galant... the bulbs, the housing, this so called "alarm"... its the galant from hell.

hey lori, long time no chat

solid light means car is in valet mode, therefore it wont beep when u lock or unlock ur car,

find ur switch hit it, turn ur key to the on position and see if the light turns off, if it doesnt turn the key back off hit the switch again (car was prolly engaged into valet from the remote if this is the case) put the key to the on position the light should turn off and then turn the key back off and exit ur car, hit ur alarm button and it should beep

if not holla at me on AIM
