There's a way to swap out the odometer from your old cluster to the new one. Let me look

Hi,
I in inherited a 00' Galant from a family member, with 37000 original miles.
Recently the gauge cluster has stopped functioning. I purchased an instrument cluster from a junk yard with wayyyyyyyyy more miles.
How can I reset the "new" cluster to what my old cluster read????
Thanks,
Jimmy

Just search "switch odometer" and it'll be the third tutorial. My iPod won't let me give you a link.

^^ya. if i remember correctly, u just unhook that one plug, and 2 or 4 screws that hold the odometer.
I may only be working with the junk yard cluster, my mechanic may have discarded the bad unit.
if not I'll try to throw together a tut soon. I need to do this when I install my new cluster.

if you dont have the old cluster then the dealership can reset it for you. you have to take the cluster and the car to them. they can read the ecu miles and set them to the new odometer. not sure how much it cost
