Ok so thats one theory down. I had looked at some diagrams from the 3g eclipse and they have a split like we do, 00-02 is one style fuse box/external vss and then 03-05 is the other style fuse box and internal vss. On the 03-05 3g, the speed sensor lead wire going to the ecu/cluster is supposed to be white with a blue stripe, so I wanted to see if our harness' shared that same wire but apparently they dont
Can someone confirm this for me, where does connector C17 plug into? Does it plug into the fuse box under the dash near the ETACS ECU? I havent had that stuff apart in a while and I dont feel like pulling all back apart.

Yeah I deff need some info, I cant figure out what to do...bad enough I really suck at wiring but this is making my brain melt.lol I can't swap to an older Harness bc I already wired up injectors and a shit of other stuff and reaaaalllyyyy dont feel like doing it again.

anything happen on this? I did some metering on the pins and what not last night, and I'm still up in the air, do we know for a fact that the auto input and output speed sensors are the same signal as the speedo in the eclipse manual speed sensor? Are people in the eclipse scene that have swap from auto to manual having this same issue?
i'll have to check up on the eclipse harness and it's connections. I haven't been working on the wires or anything just yet, will try to check it out again sometime next week.

Im gonna try the way you originally did it drew. First I want to pick up a new speed sensor
03 ES 5spd--Rota torque gloss black 17x8 et. 35--Hankook Ventus V12 evo 235/45/17--D2 coilovers--DC Sports STB--Intake--Brembo calipers--Powerslot Rotors--Stoptech Pads--SS brakes lines--35% tint--5k heads & 5k fogs--Alpine headunit--Kicker 400w amp--Alphasonix sub
No problem. I'll try different wires now that i'm under 1/2 tank.
I guess the voltage for one of the wires goes up as the fuel tank level goes down until the fuel light goes on. All I need is a 'power wire' to keep a high enough voltage to measure the speed. Just found my manual papers too, thankfully.

Here's a thought, it came to me in a dream so bear with me lol. If vss system uses the hall effect, then there is a power wire to the transistor in the sensor, and everytime it picks up the magnet it sends a pulse. I'm thinking its a square wave pulse, it can't be a voltage because the faster the pulse the faster you go on the speedo. So Im willing to bet that the vss sends pulses to an ecu wether it be the ETACS or the pcm or the actual ecu, and then gets translated into a voltage output and gets outputed to the gauge cluster. So I'm going to meter into the vss input and output plugs and see what plug It goes into and vice versa. Basically I'm looking for the one wire that's sends the VOLTAGE to the cluster, and then tap the signal wire from the eclipse speed sensor into that. What you think?
I think that is a pretty crazy dream you got going on. Do you usually dream things like this?lol

^ hopefully we can figure this thing out. I can't stand not having a speedo anymore, its driving me crazy.
Does anybody know where the pcm is located? is it apart of the etacs ecu? also, where is the picture that locates all the connectors in the vehicle?
is it looking at inside on the MALE side? or female side? I wish on the connectors they would tell us whats what. At least have 2 pins labled lol
I'm under the dash right at this moment. The current wires I have are like this...
.
The red and green wires are what I'm using to connect to the sensor directly in the tranny.
The other two wires should be pins 3 & 4. As you can see, I've tried the other two wires across the harness but they didn't work at all.

Couldn't read the speed in the 2nd video, computer battery died.
