can i install a A/C system in car that didnt come with one?

I just purchased a 1996 Galant, however, it is the type S, and it did not come with a A/C system in the car. is it possible to install one for myself?

If it is, is it possible for me to pull the system from a junk galant and install it in my car? or does it have to be professionally installed?

How much money do you think i would be looking on if i was to do something like this?

you MAY still be able to find a dealer installed AC kit. although the chances are a little slim.
its been a long time since ive installed a dealer AC kit, but they were available, and there still may be a kit or two around.

I believe the kits were right around 1000 bucks, not including installation. Finding junkyard parts is probably not the best way to do it, as used AC parts are pretty unreliable..

Its not that hard and can be done in a day, especially if you already have the parts.
