Nice G, Keep up the good work :)
Some small updates:
New pioneer double din player. Don't mind the missing frame, will be a custom frame later so i don't have to cut in the interior.
USB connection in the glovebox for the new headunit
3,5 mm jack connection in the center console
Changed the rest of the lights to blue diods, except the ac display
There is ofc also blue lights in the glovebox, cupholder and ashtray :O
Also mounted a open airfilter. Will be boxed in later, cause the heat shield will have little effect.
Had my first attempts on HDR pics of the car. Not very good, but there will be more and better ones later :)
Another update:
Checked out how the new facelift grill fitted. Will look good, but i want to do something about the mitsubishi logo, cause i like the one on the pre-facelift grill better.
Also changed for winter tires. The winter rims are the original 17" the car came with. Borbet rims made just for the galant sport. But the time has taken it's toll on them, so i gave them a quick shine with some fresh paint. Need more tlc later, since they have some bad bruses.
Changed the bulbs in the fog light too. The front of the fog light was a sad sight to see, so i also gave them some fresh paint.
The new streamer in back the rear window. It's the webadress for the norwegian mitsubishi club :)
Then i fixed a worchbench and so on in the (small) garage. Just moved to this apartment, so there was nothing there before. Need some space to work with stuff, even though it is small. Can't get the whole car in when i am working on it :S
Finally got around and polished my car after the winter.
Also changed the rotors at the front. Sadly i got the wrong pads, so the old ones are still on for a while. Will come EBC GreenStuff next week :) Painted the calipers and the brake shields too.
When i was waiting for the paint to dry, i also made a new mount for my airfilter.
Fitted a rear strut brace. Thats one of the best upgrades i have ever done on this car. The car almost oversteer now
Got myself a pleasant suprise too when i removed some dirt from the dampers to see what it was. It is Adjustable yellow konis :)
Sweet Legnum! I've always been fond of wagons, it's a shame Mitsubishi never sold them in the US.
That 2.0L SOHC looks really similar to the 2.0L's we got in late model Lancers and Mirages.
I know the pain of owning a black car, ever thought of adding oversized rally mudflaps? They catch all that spray I noticed in that pic right after you washed it. :D
Looks good man, nice progress. I didn't realize your fog lights were different until you posted the new pix. Your garage and workbench are awesome! Super organized just like I would do mine if I had one. Apartments out here don't come with garages ;(
I actually like your stock (winter) wheels a lot, they look better on your car IMO then your summer wheels.
Ty for the comments on the garage, I actually can't fit the G in there anymore, but that is the price to pay to have a workbench :) My GF's lancer got just enough space though. The worst part about the garage is that it is very narrow, but it is better than nothing. Just made some new shelfs for even more organising.
I really like the looks of the winter wheels really good too, and think i will get them refurbished after the winter soon to come. They are stock wheels for the german sport edition, and are made by Borbet just for the Galant.
There will also come new summer wheels on next year i believe, something that looks better. I did not choose the ones i have now, they where on the car when i bought them. Looking for something dark and mean :)
Hello Ludvig.
i came over your post when i was searching about the lights in the AC Display and buttons.
What kind of lights did you put in there, and where did you get them? loved the blue lights on them.
Gona write it in norwegian aswell to make sure i got my question right, and that i'll get the answer right aswell :P
Jeg har akkurat bestilt instrument skiver, men skulle ha skifta fargene i AC displayet og knappene også, hvor kjøpte du pærene? og hvordan pærer var det? :)
Mvh Kjetil
I got them on ebay, and they are all smd leds. Dont remember the name of the bulbs, but i can check it for you. Just one hint for you; www.mitsubishi-klubben.no
Sendt from HTC Desire using Tapatalk Pro, cause iPhones are for suckers.
Last weekend i started building a soundsystem in my Galant. Thought i would share this build with you people.
Started off with removing alot of the interior to route the cables. 3 RCA wire, 90mm power cable and some smaller cables for remote, lights and other stuff that i may want to install later. Not any pics from this process sadly.
Then we started to build the box for the subwoofers:
You need the correct tools. One for drilling, one for countersinking and one to screw in the screws
The case was build from 22mm MDF, and came together as nice as it could.
The case was dresses in dark grey speaker fabric and dampened with dampening material.
Then it was time to get it in the car. It is a really snug fit, we actually had to mod the strut bar to get it in. Used a dremel and made the holes in the brackets for the strut brace a bit higher so the strut bar came further up.
The rest of the sound system is not done yet, but everything is ready to be fitted. Just need the time.
Further plans:
- The the subwoofers in the box. 2 x Zachry BX-T10
- New speakers in all the doors.
These in the front, 5,25"These in the rear doors 5,25"- Rack for 3 amplifiers, condensator and fuses in the spare wheel well.
