IDK how in the world that is safe. Every time metal is flexed beyond its flex points, it becomes weaker, I hope you dont get into an accident.

The reason nothing will fit right is because when you were in the wreck, there was damage to the whole front clip. The frame is tweaked, i can almost guarantee it. I think your problems have just begun. Unless the frame is pull/straightened out, you will have problems. There are underlying issues that need to be fixed BEFORE you put all the sheet metal back on.

speed bumps, dips, potholes, dirt roads, and hopping off curbs have all been done in this car in the past two weeks wince ive had the bumper on. and to be honest my bumper is probably more likely to stay on then half the zip-tied hondas running on the streets today.

everything you see in these pics that looks wrong, or half done, or like its just asking to come apart is actually that way because its the way it would stay on. the only reason it looks bad is because i have a minimum wage job so i cant afford the luxury of an aesthetically pleasing front end. however if you've happened to browse the "how many miles on your G" thread, you would know this car has less than 50,000 miles so the engine is top notch, and for the less than $1000 it took to get it on the road, its the best damn car i could ask for.

and not to mention the cops can pull me over for it, but cant do anything about it because its street legal and considered safe by the DMV, trust me, it took me 2 months to get this thing to a point where i was confident it would pass all its inspections. as far as the law is concerned i could remove the bumper, grill, and hood, and run it with just headlights and fenders, and the cops still have no reason to pull me over

so to everyone: Its not about looks, its about function. if you have a comment to say to be funny, so be it, but if your gunna say some crap about it not being safe, or a POS, that just a dick thing to do...

now im sorry if anyone thinks this post is out of line or disrespectful, but insults to my car is out of line IMO. criticism is one think, but if your just gunna bag on it, type it out and delete it, it has no place here.

now to keep in line with the topic of this thread, heres a pic right before the inspections the car went through (that it passed)

Like the other members said Bro you were being over-sensitive & took what I said way out of context. I couldve very well have clowned the Shit out of your car, but thats not what was I was doing at all. Bcz Ive been in the situation where my car was damaged and I had no money to fix it right away. Fortunately my job was close enough that I could bike it to work until I was able to afford parts fix my car. Then an unnamed member on here decides to try and hustle me for some parts I purchsed from him, which I never recieved. I had to fight to get my money back & yet again try and purhase the parts to get my car back on the road; which prolonged the process even longer. So I know where youre coming from.

Like I said, "I could tell you tried..." meaning you were making due with what resources and money you have available. I dont think anyone on this forum would choose to drive there car looking like that if they had the choice. I was ony looking out for your best interest, not trying to make "light" of your car like others did.

It would be worthwhile to get the crash protection returned to its intended structural integrity. This can be done with relative ease by replacing the front crash bar and front radiator support. Though, if a body shop gave you an estimate for $6000 that car is basically totaled and it would be worthwhile to get rid of it and buy another Galant that is undamaged.

Just my opinion on this....I would do what 03-Galant-ES said and take it off the road. Save the money from the gas and the insurance along with a little extra and drop the engine from the car. Sell the shell to the junkyard , look on craigslist or wherever and find another G without a motor, blown head gasket, something anything thats wrong with the engine and buy it. Long as its pretty cheap and drop your engine into that one. Find a cheap mechanic who will do it on the side. When i blew my head gasket my guy changed my engine out for $500. Runs like new now

If you are mechanically inclined you should remove as much as you can before the car is junked. Do you have insurance to cover it?

I think you guys need to give bdevx a break. He said it's securely bolted to the car. Okay. Rad support is bent up, be his still has his crash bar. Okay.

Some people on here drive without crash bars and some people apply rear visors with only double sided tape, and bumper lips with a few screws and double sided tape. I guess these conditions are safe enough, since they are aesthetically pleasing. Hell, even bumpers and bumper lips held together with zip ties. You know what's funny is several people have posted about their visors flying off on the freeway, yet people still deem it safe.

Which do you think will cause more harm/damage if it flies off, a visor/lip or a hood/bumper? Not saying it makes it okay or better or worse either, its still not safe either. And for those who drive without a crashbar, thats just asking for it. I would never do that, at least get some kind of custom crashbar fabbed up...

Safety can be subjective, whats considered safe and securely bolted up, may not be safe or securely bolted down to someone else...
