I believe the limit is 250hp not 100% sure though
How much HP and a stock trans handle ( with a trans cooler on it)?
I believe the limit is 250hp not 100% sure though

Nahh. I thinks is less. Boost limit is 3-5 PSI. Dont really know. But dont take any chance. go 5 speed. Save up and do it right the first time.
I drive good, I don't drag race and I would only start boosting why im driving not at a stop.....if I can get 350 hp then I would be happy.....
NO. the tune only works with the stock "engine" internals. There is no tune that have pull out the other 256k of the transmission memory to tune it. So, is no way 20 PSI on stock auto is possible, it will only run up the block, unless is a built trans. To be in the safe side 5 PSI on stock transmission is fare, and will only run for so much. People running more than 8PSI or more on a auto they running built trans. 350 HP will only be possible with a 5 speed or a built a/t trans "NO STOCK internals on TRANI.
I guess you miss understood me. I was saying that its all in the tune for the motor to run right, and YES you can run 20 psi on the stock auto tranny, its been done, scotts g is a dohc stock block, auto with 20psi. Now just because its been done, doesn't mean that its the right way or should be done like that, but not everybody wants to go manual. And I didn't say that the tranny would last long on 20 psi, I said it would run lol
and boost is just a figure 10psi on one turbo is completly different on another turbo, you need to look at the flow range and efficency of the turbo and what turbo you run. boost has no effect on you tranny. the thing that kills trannys is power and torque.
Bottom line is this, you wont make 250 or 350 HP on a stock auto trani even with a cooler.
Stock trani = weak internals.
Just go 5spd, you will feel like you're boosting with it alone.
lol if im not mistaken on his hks fcon setup he made 263 hp
I'm currently at 240 whp on the auto trans. It doesnt shift so great at WOT on the track, but it shifts perfectly fine driving on the highway and street.
I know most of you guys dont remember manybrews. He was a mitsu tech on TGC way back in the day. But he said our auto trannies are built damn strong. After beating on my car with tons of highway miles/pulls last 2 years, I gotta agree with that.

sounds good to me. My auto trani went to crap and is not even turbo. I guess every trani is different.
^^Service intervals maybe?
