probably 225/50 or 235/45
Offset is basically the distance between the centerline of the rim and the hub mating surface of the rim. A +50 means it's 50 mm outboard (towards the fender) from the centerline of the rim. A -50mm (crazy negative offset, just an example) means it's 50mm inboard (towards the suspension) from the centerline of the rim.
What it means for you and your wheel setup I'm not sure, I don't know the specs of the 9G well enough to say if you need to use a thinner tire (215 or 225 tread width) or if a thicker one will work (235 or 245 tread width).

225/40/18 are good that's what I'm running on my 18x8 & 18x8.5

225/40/18's have an overall wheel diameter of 25.09", and the smallest of the standard 9G tires is 215/60/16, with an overall diameter of 26.15." Not a real big deal, but his speedo would say 60, and he's doing 57 (according to this), and his wheelwell would be less full, magnifying any gap he might have. He would need a taller aspect ratio to make it look better, IMO.

With the wheel being +50 offset and how it will sit in the wheel well I would say look into the 225/45. But you also have to take brand into account when thinking about rubbing issues. I had Toyo's 235/35 with no rub up front, but my new Nexen's same size 235/35 rub. I think the 235/45 would look best on that 8" wheel myself but with that +50 offset I think it would rub.

According to this with stock being 215/60/16 http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit
235/45 will be my best bet (maybe rub)
225/45 will be too short (won't rub)
225/50 will be tall
After scrolling through Tirerack i decided to go with "BFGoodrich Advantage T/A (Grand Touring All-Season)"

They have pretty decent reviews and mostly lower road noise

Finally got the wheels installed...Big THANX to anyone that helped!!
RX8 wheels on 225/50/18 Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum..Will get alignment next week.
Wrap those center caps with some Di-Noc or something, and they'll be good to go, they are hawt!! Let us know how those tires hold up, I was looking at some LX Platinums, but I've been told they wear noisily.

Whoever told them they are noisy is dead wrong. I got mine from Tirerack and they are listed as Grand Touring tire but the Kumho website got them as High performance (it had a DWS label when I received them). So far they are outstanding..the handling is superb, very quiet on city and highway. I got them based on reviews and I'm glad I did!
No doubt
nice.. thos brakes/brakedisk look a bit lonely ?
