Tps functionality?
I just picked up another 95 S 5 speed because the guy could not get it started. He told me the motor was just put in and he put about $2k into it, said he didn't want to talk about it just haul it off. I am wondering if some wrong internals were put in maybe cam or? I got it running but its crazy rich and will not go over about 3200rpm loads up pretty bad.
This is what I have replaced with known good parts;
cap, rotor, wires and plugs
fresh fuel w/ additive
injectors
front o2 sensor
hollowed cat
triple checked timing marks
compression at 210
ecu
mas
What am I missing?
Check if you are getting spark on ALL 4 cylinders..if not its probably your distibutor.
If you aren't getting spark on all 4 cylinders..the motor will run rough and the cylinder not getting spark is just being filled with unburn fuel.

All are sparking and all spark plugs are black within a few minutes of running it.
Bad coolant temperature sensor? When I worked at Goodyear we had an accord that was running really rich, I went to lunch came back, and it was fine. I asked the tech what he found, he said the coolant temperature sensor was done, it was sending a low temperature, so the pcm was dumping more fuel in than it needed. I didn't hear this suggested yet, maybe it's faulty. Hope this helps!

if thats the case check the thermostat as well. Could the RPM issue have anything to do with the trans? I know with and auto, when its messing up you will get wierd rpm fluctuations...I don't see why you wouldn't if the 5 speed was acting up either...just a thought. Overall it sounds like everything has been covered
"Why fart and waste it when you can burp and taste it!"
I wouldst think it was the clutch it would be able to usually rev up if the clutch is slipping or in neutral because of no load and it wouldn't be rich, it defiantly sounds like an engine problem not a transmission problem
To me it sounds like a sensor has gone bad or you have like a huge air blockage that would make the far run with lack of air and it probably choke out if you give it gas but I would check what was said before
You said it didn't run before how did you get it to run? That might be related to the problem

Hmmm..you symptoms sounds like it could be a bad fuel pressure regulator.
Try a known working one and see what the results are.

You mean closed if it was open it would bypass fuel making it leaner, I can see it i stuck close if it has been sitting a while, under load the vacuum drops and closes the regulator, you can quick test the diagram removing the vacuum line if it drips any fuel out you know its bad, if you have a spare still replace it

Just finished replacing entire intake manifold with everything attached including injectors, rail, tb, tps, etc.and there is still no improvement. I am thinking it must be lifters or the wrong cam at this point? I even swapped the distributor and temp sensor.

No collapsed lifters. I see the letters DJ stamped on cam not sure what that means.
Found the issue, it is a sheared off cam gear pin. This sucks probably bent valves too.
