    intake manifold question

My intake manifold cracked in my 2000 galant es 2.4l 4 cyl. and I want to know if the 03 galant 2.4l 4 cyl intake manifold would fit to my car? According to the junkyard, it only fits a 03. I want to know if he is correct since I hear that the engine from 99-03 is the same.

YES. Galant 99-03. or eclipse 2.4L form 00-05

The mani are really design bad. To upgrade get a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander intake mani. Only year 2003.

The only place will be a junk yard. Yeah the 03 outlander are rare now.
    Go to Car-part.com
2003 Mitsubishi Outlander. Remember make sure is only that year. Thats the only one that will fit. Also get a v6 TB to finish the upgrade. Good luck.

You can also use the Outlander TB, but you will also need the TPS from it. Stepsascend has a righteous deal on the V6 TB right now.

I bought the throttle body and tps today. In the forum that states the parts u need for outlander intake swap, it said something about havjng to use the outlander's manifold support and the people at the junk yard didn't know what that was. Is it a vital part to complete the swap?

A bit of gain, not much. Outlander manifold is really more of a reliability thing than performance on stock cars. If 5spd or turbo more noticeable difference.

You guys forgot to mention to him to get the Non-MIVEC Intake Mani. Bcz the MIVEC one wont work... Also u can use the Outlander TB, its the same size as the V6 (6G72) motor's. The TB out of the Diamante (6G75) is larger in diameter.

so would there be no real difference between the v6 tb vs the outlander's since they are the same size? and I bought the 03 outlander's intake manifold. the pictures look like the same engine as mine. I found it for cheap on the car-part website.

the 2003 is the only non-MIVEC for the Outlander. From 2004 they started the MIVEC.

Yes no difference unless you get the TB from the Diamante's V6.

Oh ok. I said that bcz when doing my search for my IM I had to specify, bcz I ran across 2003's that I was told were MIVEC's...
