If it has a black plastic Ecu..its a flashable ECU, non eprom.
If the Ecu is metal...open it up see if has the eprom chip on the bottom corner. If not..its non eprom.
There is a 1997-98 GST at the yard by me ECUs are $30 any car

Eprom..you can burn the chip catered to your modifications and mess with parameters but as you do more upgrades you will have to reburn the chip.
Flash...just need a flash tuning program and cable to flash the Ecu to cater to your current modifications and mess with parameters.
For tuning purposes...Flashing is easier since you don't have to remove the Ecu and take out a chip each time you upgrade things to your motor.

Plastic is better for future mods
