Thanks Carl I never thought about that.

Greg I know very little about projectors though lol. These projectors are the same for both the HID package and the Halogen packege, honda just adds a ballast and stuff, I coulndt find the OEM HID stuff yet.

No thanks Matt it's about half way right now and it's less than 2 finger gap plus the car hasn't settled yet.

Not a problem. I hope you kept the kelvin around 4300k to 6000k to maximize light output. Bluer lights strain the eyes more as well as perform terrible in the rain.

When I get my laptop, ill make a thread on hidplanet asking about those projectors.

I wouldn't think they're the same, they may look the same, but halogen bulbs emit light differently than HID bulbs, and to maximize the light I would figure the reflector bowl portion of the projectors would be different. I'll try to see if I can't find out any more info, but I would think they're different.

Hmm alright I was informed on the oddessey forum they were, but then again I dont think there is really a knowledge base there, they look like there would be mounting bracket spots on the the back of the headlight of a ballast.

She took it out tonight and said as I quote "Holy shit I can see" it is a huge difference.

Carl they are DDM's 4.3k I have 3k for the fogs that I will put in tommorrow. I wish now I had the JDM heads so I could do a retro cause these projectors really put the light out efficiently

I love yellow fogs. Looks good mrg.

Over on hidplanet, the general consensus so far is what I thought, The hid projectors and halogen projectors are NOT the same. I'm hoping to have more info for you on Monday when the more people get back online. Doing a retro fit isn't as hard as one would think. You can either attempt it yourself or you could pay someone like Lightwerkz to do it for you. If you get it professionally do, your going to be paying a pretty penny for it.

Hmm okay maybe its the same housing with just a different projector. Thanks for posting over there I need to get an account there to add to my many long ass list of forums. One day I just need to find all the forums I am on and great a folder for them LOL.

I would do it myself, I have done everything that I can do to my car, and it will stay that way. Only 2 things have I let others do and that was tint, and a alignment.

Are you rocking JDM heads or USDM? Im guessing what ever you pick matches the bumper. Grab a spare set of heads and work on them over time. Thats what im doing, ive put in 30 mins a day for a few days... lately I havent had the chance. With the projectors, city driving wont change that much but if you do dark backroads and highways at night then it will be a big deal.

If your referring to post #3582, those are FXR projectors from theretrofitsourse. Greg aka wetamup is working with the same ones in 8GB heads I believe. One of the best projectors in terms of price, mounting and output. Best bang for your buck. Alot of first time retrofitters use them.

Ah, the picture didnt load when I made my post. I believe those are lexus ls430. Really big projectors. Also, that picture is very over exposed. None the less, really great projectors.

Yes, those are LS430's, and while they are as wide a projector you can get, that pic is overexposed, making the output much brighter than it really is. mrg, the output looks good on the Odyssey, no glare above the cutoff, which is typically what happens when you put HID in halogen projectors, so I'd say yeah they're good to go! What would really tell the tale though is if you could get a pic of the lights on the garage door on the outside, about twenty feet away, that would really show how good the output is. Good work bro!

Thanks guys, it is really good. There is a tiny bit of glare where it reflects of the silver part of the housing. I would but my driveway isnt that long. I may go find a wall for ya.

I drove the van today and it was a huge improvement. The problem with where we live is that we have alot of light pollution so its hard to see how good they are. The big difference will be in the fogs as thats the bit of light that you really see well.

I figured that little hint of glare was from the refection of the housing, that don't count lol!

LOL if only mom would let me take the heads apart and paint the housing to prevent the glare.
