Or instead of a switch you could always use it with a relay and the running lights

No, I spliced the ground from the fogs to the parking lights so that when I turn the parking lights on, it trips the fog switch.

You need a relay on that thing boss, You are still using the power from the parking lights, don't let the indicator on the dash fool you.

My "mod" is pretty simple since I have low-beam only HID's. I took the wire going to the low beam (on the HID wiring harness) and moved it to the high-beam. Now when I need to use the HID's, I flick the light switch to "high" and the HID's come on. When the lights are in the normal "low" position, the only lights that will work in this mode is the parking lights (and the halos) + fog lights when I press the fog light button. You can also experiment with removing the low beam fuses as well.

That's why I said, "MY Mod". His question was, "Running the fogs without headlights? Has anyone been able to do this mod?" I'm sure many people seen that mod that requires relays and shit and thought, "Fuck that, there has to be a simpler way of achieving this look." I know I did, LOL. The great thing about TGC and the members here, there are always more than 1 way to do a mod.

    I think I got it.

Do you still have high beams that work?
Can you run your fogs with the HiD's?

I'm gonna do what Joey did with the "independent" fogs.

I never installed the high beams. I just had low beams. I never thought the high beams were necessary as I have HID (and they're not pointed down all that low).

Nope. The fog light is stock setup - meaning they only turn on with the low beams. I'm ok with this. I figure the whole look I was going for [halos, parking lights and fog lights on at the same time] was meant for it to be seen by other people - and when I'm rollling at dusk or dawn. When it's too dark and I have to use the HID's, 1) you can't see the halo lights, and 2) at this point, I don't care if anyone sees my yellow fog lights while the HID's are on.

That's what I figured, so it was personal preference of what look you were going for, and still have night visibility with one flick regardless of fogs or not. But hey it works for you right.

    Yep and yep.

And that's all what modding is about really, at least, that's been my philosophy (that it works for me, and I feel ok with what I done/created).

BGR, I like your thinking on the lights. I wired mine in so that they come on with the parking circuit, and stay on.

Vic, that switch panel is sweet. My switch for my LEDs inside the car is tacky lol
