yes. middle.
so guess as you know im trying to replace the crankshaft position sensor on a 2000 2.4l mitsu galant... and currently in process of it... so far i removed alt belt and powersteering belt... to access the lower timing belt cover do i need to remove this "pulley"?
and if so how do i
by removing the 4 small bolts on the gear or do i fit a 1/2 torque wrench in the middle and go counter clockwise...
as always thanks for your help in advance...

yes. middle.
All bolts need removing. If you can use an impact.
removing the middle bolt isn't necessary since it only holds the crank pulley in place. Removing those 4 bolts and use a rubber hammer will release that pulley from the center piece.

^^ Correct. IIRC the bolt goes right through the pulley. Kinda disappointing to see the smaller bolts is all that holds the main pulley.
oops guess i remembered wrong my bad. its been a while.
only the 4 bolts then its hammer time :D did this a couple of months ago

I only remember that cuz the oil pump cover leaks and I took it off and replaced the gasket about 3 times and I did the timing belt on my other g and my cousin's g too.

THanks for all the help guys.. i successfully changed all my belts: timing, balance shaft belt,a/c powersteering alt belts, tensioners, water pump and CRANKSHAFT sensor.... with your guys help and the Haynes manual....by the way haynes manual is not the greatest help for a first timer...especially trying to balance the oil sprocket thing.. sucked ass... the Plug took me hours to find... its the bolt right underneith the starter and behind the headers down pipe.....IF any one have question feel free to hit me up..
