Dialing in both G's with Mini's, (Fine tuning mine). Running into the issue of the solenoids sticking when the lights get hot, I found a few anwers on HIDPlanet, basically Need to sand down the solenoid plunge and lubricate it.

    Question:

Which one should I use from these? It gets very hot (was adjusting cut-off with flat head that had dry silicone on it and from being in the projector for 5 seconds it started to melt.) in the projectors so it's recommend to use graphite lube, but home depot shows a spray can and a tube.

For my money, the Blaster graphite spray is money, Blaster makes great products if Blaster PB (commonly called PB Blaster) is any indication. The stuff stinks, but damn if don't help bust loose some frozen fasteners. So I'd imagine that spray should lubricate and hold up to projector heat.

Is graphite lube in general high heat resistant?

From what I've read, graphite lube can handle 450° F for long periods of time and can handle much higher temperature spikes of short duration.

Also take a look at the retrofit source whatever I got from them was plug and play and never had issue I have bixenon globes. All I had from jy was the mazda rx8 hid and ballasts, upgraded to the clear lens bi xenon and got their harness then made my own boxes and mounted them for the ballasts.

Oh, 55W, no wonder we got heat issues! Glad to see it's all working good Vic!

TBH I don't think the graphite power is doing the job, it seems that the shutters motion blows it around and ends up on the floor of the projector or the lens.

    What about:

I have those same projectors, I don't doubt their customer service, its the strength of the solenoids I'm starting to not trust.

    slightly noobish question
as I'm doing my head gasket, before removing my timing belt, I set cylinder #1 at top dead, the timing mark of cam for the front head was lined up perfectly, however the timing mark for the rear head's cam was close to 180 degrees, does this sound right? I could have sworn you line up the timing marks of both cams to the timing marks according to the knotch cutouts on the valve covers

My rpf1s are 17x8 +45, would I be able to clear brembos if I get some spacers? I remember reading somewhere that 17s could clear brembos but I'm not sure.

Also does anyone have the part number for the v6 drive axle with abs for the 5-speed swap? I'm going to try to start the swap next week.

Stock Evo VIII/IX Enkeis are 17's, so I'd have to assume so.

I'm still trying to find the axle shaft, on car-part do you select right outer assembly or jack-shaft? Or does anybody know where else I could get one? I went on a some sites and they only say its for the v6 but doesn't specify if it's for the manual or auto trans.

I got it from Club3g, # MR357370, I bought it last week or so, it was $103 plus shipping. All you get is the axle, you have to move your ABS items over to the new axle.

I also bought Manual starter plate. # 1055A022, it was $31 plus shipping. I have the part numbers to alot of the parts, just PM me for them if you need them.

No prob, I think I got everything for my V6 5 speed swap, I made a shopping list before I started getting the parts. I just need to find sometime to do it working all the time. I think I'm going to buy new axles from autozone or advance discount because they are $50 each for a side (minus the intermediate shaft) and are 100% assembled with new boots and what not.
