Awesome work! Don't know if I wouldve had the guts to cut up my radiator support, I prob wouldve chopped up my bumper lol

Lol! I felt the same way. But I had to find the extra 1.5inches somewhere to move forward with the project and still keep the looks.

wow that looks awsome, great fab work and the whole idea to start with. it looks like you have the square tube ran all the way up to the frame rail, couldnt you remove that extra 2-3"s of rad. support that isnt doing anything to give you more IC room?.. or is the tubing actually welded to that.

the only thing i noticed, and it may just be the pic but the center support looks pretty close to the existing radiator which is fine but if you decide to upgrade to a thicker radiator later on you might not be able to just drop it in, you may have to move your lower mounting tabs back a little taking away space from other areas like in between the fan and turbo and things like that.

i know the v6 is a lil different from a 4cyl. setup interms of turbo systems so its probaly isnt an issue but if it is then you just have a little more figuring out to do later on.

but great work so far cant wait to see it done.

Believe it or not. The Mishimoto aluminum evo 5 2-row radiator sits there perfect. The box steel center support does not go back far enough to go past the upper/lower radiator mounts. The picture it just a little deceiving lol.

Good job bro. I want more pics and progress. Lol. Yes a plus for the evo 567 mishimoto radiator. I got that with the dual fan shrouds. Win win.

Thanks man, I'll keep everyone updated as I keep going at it. I'm hoping it will be ready for mod, but there's no way to tell until I'm almost done.

I like the idea and I basically plan on doing similar work so I won't have to hack into the JDM bumper.

I haven't had one no. But I'm thinking about mocking one up now that it will go fast lol.

if you use the evo radiator youll have to reclocate the bottom pins but it shouldnt be a big deal for you since you have a welder on site.

I do plan on welding some more box metal up for crash support. If it weren't for the crash bumper on my old G, I don't know if the engine would have crushed my legs if the frame didn't take the shock.

Cut it out! Then welded in some box steel. It's so much stronger than the original metal.

Spent 5 hours mounting this. No Idea why it took so long other than aiming for perfection lol.

Just showing clearance. This is the space between the bumper and the intercooler (micrometer was dead so 3 paint sticks will do!)
