Sweet! How does PlastiDip look when it gets wet ? I've seen a ton of cars doing the flat black hoods/roof/etc. and when it gets wet it looks spotty. Assuming those are done with regular flat black spray cans?

Either way, this looks awesome Pete!

that looks great ive been doing my wheels in plastidip for awhile but never brave enough to hit the whole car lol do u have experince in painting? did u get the supplies from dipyourcar.com? i love that stuff lol

what happened to your jdm front? is this a new car?
I've been around, where have you been? I crashed my car back in April, bought a Genesis Coupe, bought a donor 8G, fixed my 8G, and then plastidipped it haha.

I bought the paint from dipyourcar, but I will not be ordering from them in the future. It took them almost a month to send me 2 gallons of black. They claimed they had a backlog of orders, but I had to call them to get the information.

A simple email with an update after 2 weeks would have been sufficient.

I'm guessing you were hoping to have this done by the cookout?

Yup, but their horrible customer service didn't let that happen.

I plasidipped my 8g about a month or so ago and used 6 cans so far lol.
I need to redo my doors, since I spent most of my time on the hood and roof (due to the crappy paint), be careful when you fill up with gas though, it'll dissolve the dip if it gets on it.

You used the spray cans? I would never use those to do a whole car. Trim pieces and maybe some smaller stuff, but a rattle can can't do as good of a job as a gun.

yea i would imagine if you spill any amount of gas on it it would immediately bubble up.

If you buy one of their kits it comes with a gun. I'm highly considering this. $388 for everything before shipping, sounds good to me!

I would think twice before buying their gun. They haven't come out and said if its spark contained or not. Plastidip has a very low flash point... i.e. Be carful that you don't burn your car down to the ground.
