You have a map sensor but a 1g head and intake manifold so there is no spot for it without a weld on adapter. The 4 wires on the cam angle sensor are for the crank and cam sensor built into one. Magnus motorsports has the wiring diagrams for a 1g CAS in a 2g

You can use 97 sonata MDP sensor. Its not mounted on the manifold and it only needs a vacuum line. Its Mitsu made and the plug is the same as 7g.

Just search in all the threads that Ive started and youll find it.

Can you please type in understandable English? Im having hard time following what you're trying to say. Its the tutorial forum after all.

Are you going to use you stock crank sensor or are you going to use the crank signal off the 1g CAS?

pin 1 1g CAS goes to BRN/GRN wire of the distributor plug (Cam Signal) pin 68 of ECU
pin 2 1g CAS goes to the crank position sensor harness if you use it, if you dont then leave it alone
pin 3 1g CAS goes to BLK/WHT wire of the distributor plug (+12V)
pin 4 1g CAS goes to BLK wire of the distributor plug (ground)

You can't swap in the full harness as it is too much work. Rewiring the fuse box and stuff. More wires is the last thing you need

Does anyone have a pic of the 93/94 DSM black top cam sensor mated to the Galant Distributor?

  13. #53
As far as I've found only a few people have done it there's a really long thread on the subject search for...hmm I think the topic was vice versa distributor into a dohc head .....sorry ADHD kicked in I'll dig around with you see what we can find

Pretty sure the whole tutorial is about staying single cam by using the stock distributor. If you are staying single cam the first post is all that really pertains to you

I was hoping to find pics. Not sure if any machine work or aluminum welding is needed. The OP just says to mate a black top cam sensor to the stock distributor once all of the guts are removed. My plan is to get the two parts here and see if its obvious or not. Was hoping someone that has actually done this would chime in.

so i adventured into doing this and is seems way more pins need to change than this. doing it on a 96. all the injectors wiring was right and the tach signal it just seems like more pins are off.

False alarm. I did not take the time to investigate the numbering of the 96 connectors, but now that I have I would like to verify this works for all 96 7Gs just the numbering in the factory service manuals is different but you don't have to worry about it as it does not matter

Here are the 7gb diagrams and pin voltages.

If I could upload files of any size to this site I'd include a 2GB to 7GB wiring comparison with swapped pins highlighted.
