    has anybody...

had any experience with repairing / replacing the window motor in the 8G?? If so, how easy / hard of a process was it? I got to taking the side panels off but didn't go any further cause I didn't have any socket wrenches.

Very simple. Shouldn't take more than 15 mins with power tools.

Thanks guys. I was thinking it shouldn't take too long. More than likely hit up the junkyard in the near future. Motor (with a guarantee that it'll work) is about 37. Wish me luck!

The hardest part is getting the interior off imo and I took out my window when I did mine. Just remember how you took it the window out if you decide to do it that way. Easier putting it back in lol.

It's pretty easy. I had to replace mine twice on my old galant. A coworker of mine gave me a string with two big suction cups on it, that held the window in place so I didn't have to mess with it at all. Two bolts for the window, four for the regulator bracket, three for the motor, rotate the assembly sideways once unfastened and slide it all out of the bottom opening in the door. Some years of the galant use bolts with #4 Philips screwdriver grooves in them, my car didn't but the junkyard car I got the first replacement regulator out of did so I used them going back in so that the whole job could be done with a screwdriver. Hope this helps, good luck.

You could alsp use painters tape to hold the window up from the inside stick it on and go over to the otherside and tape down.

Thanks for all the replies. I got kinda lost on part of it

Unscrewed all the screws n took the panel off
Took the water guard off n unscrewed the bolts

The motor is unbolted but I can't get the sumbitch out!

It's kinda hard to describe and the car is at the junkyard so I have no pictures :-(

Is th ere anything you guys can think of that IM forgetting to do?

What about the regulator itself, the metal piece the window slides up and down on, is that unbolted? The motor is attached to that with the drive cables and unless those are snapped it must come off as a unit (well you can dig in there and separate the motor from the regulator but that's more work than its worth). I'll try to find a pic.
