    Gojirars 99' 8G Build

I bought this car for about $1400 at 156,000 miles after my first was totaled. The car mechanically was in poor condition but the body was virtually rust free and clean. I cleaned it up and maintained it until I stumbled onto this forum. Since then I have doing some small mods to it and decided it was time for a build thread. There will be a lot of pics so it will take a bit.

    Engine:
    Stock 4G64
    NGK Iridium Spark Plugs
    AEM Oil Cap
    Injen SRI
    Prothane Motor Mounts
    6G72 TB

    Transmission:
    Auto (for now)

    Suspension:
    Tein SS Eclipse Coilovers
3G Eclipse GT OEM Strut Bar

    Wheels:
Set 1-10th Anniversary Eclipse OZ F1 Rally Wheels Wrapped in Eagle RSA
Set 2-1980's Riken STX 16x7.5 wrapped in Dunlop Dirreza 205/50/16

    Interior:
3G Eclipse Black Cloth Seats Front
Rear Seats Dyed Black, 3G Eclipse Cloth Inserted to Match
3G Eclipse F/R Seat Black Belts
    3G Eclipse Steering Wheel
    Black Headliner
    Black Trim
    Door Panel Inserts Black Leather
    3G E-brake Cover
    3G Black Door Handle Trim
    8G JDM Chrome Handles
    OEM Woodgrain All Around
    3G Black Sun Visors
    9G Weather Stripping Black
    300mm Mirror
    One Totoro

    Audio:
    Kenwood KDC-352U
    Pioneer 3-Way 6x9s Rear

    Exterior:
    8G JDM Aspire Tail Lights
1970's JDM Yellow Glass Foglights (Not Tinted Film)
USDM To JDM Look Grille Mod
    Rear Debadged
    8G B OEM Headlights
1997 Accord Mirrors (Heated and Power)
8G B Silver Keyless Trunk Garnish
    Ebay Door Visors

I am sure I missed a few things but that's the most of it. Now onto the pics.

    After buying number two.

Swapped the wheels over and did the grille mod

    Swapped to 8G B Headlights

Accord mirror install after looking at alternatives and finding G-Spots Thread Here

I met with M-Rod and Silvertune and ended up installing the 6g72 TB and a bit later installed remote start and alarm

    LED dome light installed afterwards

After installing the LEDs a month later my Aspire Tails arrived

As winter started rolling in most modifications halted. I did pick up a JDM Grille from Doctor however.

Once spring came around I got a few more things. AEM oil cap and fitted my old/new wheels on. That wheel gap though....

And once again progress slowed. However I did have plans much larger than I was planning and saved. My chance came and I nailed a set of Tein SS coilovers for $500 in August

The stock springs shot out on the first set and scared the shit out of me. Second one fared better.

    Before VS After

    Before

    After

After the install a few weeks later I picked up some 3G seats from M-Rod. Didn't take pics of them but after Factory MOD 2013 I started to tackle the interior. Lots of 3G interior parts and much thanks to Silvertune. Also received my JDM chrome handles in the mail as well as ordering/receiving upholstery material.

There won't be any full interior shots for a bit as it's rather messy with all the parts I am gathering haha. In between receiving and installing my good friend SpecialK bought a nice 8G DE and I hooked him up nice and proper with a 6G72 TB.

Since then I have been pretty good for the year and I cannot wait for 2014. A lot of things will be happening and by MOD it shall be a very different car. Any questions let me know and thanks for reading. How about a sneak peek at next year?

Your build reminds me of BabyG's early stages.

The 16's is so nostalgic for me. Next time you need tires. 225/50/16 looks awesome on the 8G.

I am looking forward to following this build. I hope to see you at MOD next year. Hopefully BabyG is done by then.

I'm going to have to convince you to do some prothane stuff. FLCA bushings and sway bar bushings/endlinks front and back at the very least. Stiff springs only get you so far when the alignment wonders all over as a result.

Among other things... It should be a fun year.

I love the 16's and the tire size i'll keep in mind. The ones I have now need to be replaced. I've read your whole build thread and it has given me a few ideas. Also hoping to see you and BabyG at MOD!

It shall be a fun year, going to for sure do as you mention seeing as I will definitely need an alignment and some newer suspension components all around. Also may need a hand with it.

    Thank you!

In terms of updates not a whole lot going on due to the cold (-50's windchill for MN) but I did get a few more small bits in the mail to add to a growing pile of parts. I am going to be moving out of my parents house and into a house of my own come next Saturday and am rather excited to actually have a place to work on the car. Doors and interior mostly finished, carpet ordered and trying to locate a diamante for parts....

What diamante parts do you need? The rear interior dome lights?

Well I have those....what I need is the full black dash+speedo/center console as well as misc....cleazy has a headstart on me with it but basically the same idea. Most of them have been tan in my local area so it's just a waiting game. The stock dash is okay and yeah I can paint it black but I need something a bit more refreshing for the interior...so there's a big hint on what's to come. Keeping hush hush on the rest of my plans haha.

The VR-X Diamante is hard to come by, but with some patience one should pop up. That 6G74 has a couple more horses than the ES/LS 6G74 IIRC. Something to keep in mind...

Edit: NVM, you have the 4G64. LOL on my part.

wetamup2k3g, thanks for the info and heads up. And yeah if I had a v6 I'd most likely go that route and it would make the idea of purchasing a whole parts car more justifiable but since i am not it'll be more difficult. However the 4g64 shall see a few things coming together near the end of next month.

none of them would fit the USDM galant. the front sits would be bolt on and the speedo does not fit... i have all of this at home and i cannot use it.
