    2003 Galant ???

I just wanted opinions on what you guys think about the 2.4l 2003 galant. My friend was intrested in getting one used w/o warrenty and asked me if the car would be reliable ( stock ). But since I have a 7g I couldnt really advise her, coz I dont know the flawz from the 8g's. As far as my 7g its been pretty reliable at almost 100k miles. The only thing major that went so far was the water pump. Thankz for any responses !!!

The biggest problems seem to be the rotors, and the glove box. But instead of that, it is an awsome car.

The glove box latch fails. You can replace it for about $25. Hardly a reason to avoid the car.

Exactly. Or you can fix it yourself (permanent )

Amen to the glove box and brake rotors, other than that it's a great car! The glove box tends to vibrate a little but is easily fixed and the rotors warp like every 25,000 miles or so.

The rotors are waaaaaayyyyyyyyy to small to stop this heavy of a car and this is leading to excessive heating of the rotors which is why ANY rotor will warp. I just got our 8th gen. Galant and this is the first situation that will be addressed. Anyone know of a company or set up for bigger brakes?? experiences??

I believe she said it was about $11,500 for it. (2003 4cyl) Has about 8k miles on it. Is that a decent deal coz I think I've seen them on ebay for cheaper ???

    It depends on the location.
My local newspaper (Los Angeles) is listing brand new DE's for about that money.

try www.tradeonline.com and you will see how much other used galants are selling for.

ebay is likely to be a lot cheaper but you can't really see and drive before you buy if the car is not local.
