    Finally... a locking fuel cap

    Hi All,

I recently purchased a locking gas cap for my 2002 ES V6.

A $17.00 investment to protect your engine from sugar, salt, sand, etc... you know what I mean.

    STANT online catalog:
    http://www.stant.com/part_locator/index.cfm
    For 2002 Galant 3.0L -- Stant part #: 10508

    Buying it from here:
    http://www.xterraparts.com/Merchant2/merch...&Category_Code=

    Hope this help.

PS. for those who live in metro DC area, do you know any good shop to install strut+spring? Thanks.

Genuine experience carries a lot more credibility than the ability to answer a question.

Yes, 10508 perfectly fits for 2002 Galant ES V6, as well as for many other cars. Check here:

AutoThority. They are a bit expensive but they do things right. They have a laser system when they align your car. They are located in Fairfax, VA about 10-15 minutes south of 395/495. I don't trust any other place.

Your car should have a birth month. If it is late 2001 then you're probably 2001+ if it is early 2001 or 2000 it is probably 1999-2001. Someone should know the month spread?

look at your gas cap. does the white part have like 3.5 threads looking from the side. or does it have like 1.5 threads.

mine is 2001 and has 1.5 threads. it looks like this.

so i need the stant gas cap #10508

they look very different. i've seen the '99 one-early '01. it's much thinner in diameter and more threads.

i think this is a damn good investment. if it works...you'll never know...if it doesn't...they would've done it anyways regardless of locking gas cap.
