I recently purchased a locking gas cap for my 2002 ES V6.
A $17.00 investment to protect your engine from sugar, salt, sand, etc... you know what I mean.

Your car should have a birth month. If it is late 2001 then you're probably 2001+ if it is early 2001 or 2000 it is probably 1999-2001. Someone should know the month spread?
look at your gas cap. does the white part have like 3.5 threads looking from the side. or does it have like 1.5 threads.so which one do I need provided that I have a 2001 Galant ES V6 :?: thanksit changed mid 2001.

mine is 2001 and has 1.5 threads. it looks like this.
so i need the stant gas cap #10508
they look very different. i've seen the '99 one-early '01. it's much thinner in diameter and more threads.
i think this is a damn good investment. if it works...you'll never know...if it doesn't...they would've done it anyways regardless of locking gas cap.
