215/45/17 whether its lowered or not.
Ok so I lower my 8g about two inches and I got some 17×8 rims what would be a good tire size
215/45/17 whether its lowered or not.
Why wouldn't 225-45-17 be good
you want something that is close to the stock overall diameter of the wheel/tire you're replacing. that way your speedometer wont be off. 225/45/17 will be cheaper to get and shouldn't rub if your offset is correct. 215 might be the correct way to go, but you will spend more since tire places think that is a special width for some odd reason.

It just ok i understand
Even with 40 offset
For a 17x8 +40mm wheel setup, either tire size should work. However, with 225/45R17s due to the addition tread width it is more likely with 2" of lowering you will rub slightly on the rear quarter panels. As always, when lowering these vehicles it is highly recommended to 1) Test fit your desired combination and 2) roll the rear quarter panels if your vehicle is lowered.
Put it it this way, im lowered about 2in. With coils on evo 9 wheels wrapped in 225/45/17, and if it wasn't for the fender job in back they would be rubbing.
Evo 9's are 17x8 +35
Theres nothing wrong with 225/45. If you want them run them, it may be a better fit since the 215's will have a little stretch.
How about 225-40-17 how would that look
Ok thank so with the 225/45-17 will they fill the front wheel well or would I have a lil gap
You never change tire sizes to eliminate wheel well gaps, you do so by lowering the car.
My 225/45/17 Michelin Pilot Sports did not rub with my 17x8 +40 setup.
Fenders were untouched, wheel liners untouched, etc.
Lowered on Tein S-Techs.
I'm amazed I remember ANY of that.
Im running 245-40 with a 35 offset, same size wheel
