Im not sure if they use a two or 3 piece design or not. I know the mitsu 4G64 lower cover from the Galant or Eclipse definetly doesnt work.

I have compared the sonata upper to evo upper and sonata lower to evo lower. i think the sonata upper cover is a bit longer to meet the bottom cover due to the longer deck height.
lower sonata cover has some bolt holes that don't match the evo/galant covers but those are in the middle and the main important ones to me are the outer ones.
upper and lower sonata covers are $58 shipped on amazon. total was $64ish with tax. i will install them and take pics. i believe this should work with good fitment making up for the gap that the evo cover creates

Most people care for the lower cover and leave the upper off. I wanna just experiment to see if the sonata upper and bottom fit perfectly or not. Plus I need a lower cover to replace the galant one. I may end up using the top cover. Not sure yet.

when i get into my welding class ill see what can be done to get some proper fitting covers. Im allready working with plexi so i might be able to do a metal cover wit plexi windows to see through. not sure what term welding starts at though im in steering & under carriage right now.
U need to have the setup I have in order to make something for it. Otherwise giving you dimensions will be a bitch.

I have the evo lower cover and Zaklee clear cover up top, its tru that it isnt a perfect fit but the top bolts line up fine and I used some zipties on the bottom holes. Even the though lower holes dont line up it still fits fine once its zipped up and there hard to see unless your really looking for it.
I know you want a perfect fit but honestly this works fine and not worth the hassle in my opinion. You can use that effort elsewhere.
Coming along nicely!!
Thanks Bryant, I'm gonna fiddle around with the sonata parts. The cost of both top and bottom sonata covers were less than a stock lower evo one so that justified it for me right now. Maybe later down the road I can switch covers or see if the zaklee will fit with the sonata lower. Small gap isn't a major issue for me honestly and using zip ties definitely not a problem either lol
Brian did say his top one cracked from the vibration of the solid mounts. So I have to think about it lol

I haven't had any issues with cracking and Im on urethane mounts as well with a bit of track time with the car. Maybe its just one of those things.
Either way my main reason for having a clear cover is to keep an eye on the adjustable cam gears, Im always worried there gonna back off with all the vibrations. I drew lines with a sharpie on the face of the gear next to the fasteners and across the fastener head. If it starts to back out those sharpie lines will be misaligned and Ill cath it before its to late. I do checks before and after each session and this is one of them. The clear cover is a good investment.
Yeah its definitely good to keep an eye on those. I'm not a huge fan of the design of the fidanza gears and I really feel like the Aem Tru time gears are a safer option since they use bigger bolts.

A wild guess says that it won't line up to our oil pump.

Aaron runs top and bottom sonata and he said they work. He just had to shave the inside of the cover since it rubs on the cam gears.

Techna-fit trimmed the hose and sent it back. Now if they sent me the right power steering rack fitting then I would finish my power steering lines but no they sent me another fitting for the pump. On a good note this routes perfectly how I planned it. Just need to install some hose clamps to secure those lines in place and done.
