I fill up with 93, usually with a half a tank and get over 200 miles on a half.
more air= less traction(not just for going but more importantly for stopping).
= poor ride quality
= no matter what you think......... your tires wear unevenly, just like any tire manufacturer will tell you and i think they would know because of the decades of extensive R&D that they, DOT, and insurance companies have done. as well as independant studies. the list goes on.
You run your 40+ psi, I'll run what Mitsubishi put on my door... 32 front, 29 rear.
To get better gas mileage.... I won't sacrifice safety. I won't.
What do i do?
Well on my 2.0l, 50 trim turbocharged 24 psi, 720cc injector, 255lph fuel pump, with big 8 inch wide tires..........
I lean the closed loop a/f ratio out whiel cruising to 16.5:1 a/f. And i get about 36 mpg.
why don't you just try something like that to get the mileage you want.
Instead of putting yourself and others in danger.

I just read the research info about the 99' Galant at cars.com and for the V6 engine it says regular unleaded is recommended. It didn't say premium at all. I don't have the owners manual and the sticker on the gas cap was removed, so which is it for the V6? Regular or premium?

i run 91 on my i4 with soso driving (easy n hard driving ) mortly easy driving i get almost 360 miles of a full tank i wasnt getting 250 using 89 so thats why i use 91 octane
03 I4
I use premium, better performance than 87/89 octane.
When I used to take my car to the garage for servicing they'd always put 40psi in the tires, very unpleasant when hitting a bump or pot hole.

I always use 91/93. Its 55-60 dollars to fill from a quarter tank. 4.29 for 91 octane
damn are you guys serious? ive gotten like 250 miles from a full tank on my 1-4 G at the most, i use 87. does it really make that much of a difference
i was using 87 for about a year on my g and just recently went to 91 and BIG difference more hp and drived alot smoother
Well cool im not to worried then, I usally run 89 octane, on a 4cyl Non turbo Automatic
I get horrible gas milage around town. But on the trip to sac. i got 320 miles on 13.2 gallons of Gas. ( Untill the fuel light came on)
But around town, i average 17.5 MPG. I usally fill up at half and average between 120-130 Miles
how about for an INLINE 4 CYCLINDER, what kind of gas do u prefer?

Gonna sell this car. It only has 47k miles on it. It's a '99 Galant ES-V6. Car runs fine, but needs several repairs/maintenance. It's not worth me paying for car repairs when the car is old. $2,000 is my going price. Thanks.
