I think I read your thread on Club3g, again the mirage looks good beside the cancer, welcome to TGC!
Hello
I'm coming from Mirage Forums (same username)
just want to introduce myself, ask some questions, show my car.
COPY PASTE FROM MY THREAD, 6-7 months ago
first of all my car is a 1997 Mirage LS coupe.
originally came with a 1.8 (g93)
second owner attempted a g69 swap. didn't go as planned. I received it. Got sidetracked with my other Mirage and this nice coupe sat for over a year. Just waiting.
had originally picked up a 64 and kia head for my sedan, but I decided my coupe really needed it. It had been sitting far too long and I wasn't about to give up on it.
here is a shot of the engine
unfortunately it doesn't look as nice as the first two shots. like I said, car sat for over a year, an the sun took it's toll on my paint, ouch. my poor clear coat. :(
plus had my hood run over by a friend when doing the 64 swap, he didn't see it in my yard. fail.
had the car running ok for a few weeks now, back in progress to bringing it back to it's original state. It will get there.
current mod list (if you can call it that?)
-g64 block with a Kia DOHC Head. All oem spec pieces (ballin' on a budget)
freshly rebuilt, new seals and gaskets, ACL race bearings and ARP Studs, balance shaft delete.
-Headers to a custom 2.5 DP. plan to have the rest of my exhaust done after the holidays.
-Evo 8 IM, fuel rail and 7G galant 275cc injectors. with a 2G DSM 60mm TB (same IACV plug as the Mirage, and matches the evo Mani)
-Updated to the 501 MAF
currently still running on a untuned 1.8 ECU atm.

Copy pasta from my thread on MPF. it's 4g64 powered with an eclipse trans so I thought you guys might enjoy if you haven't seen it before. Huge pic dump incoming.
Well ok pictures. Here's a quick run down. Rebuilt all the suspension. 4G knuckles, every bushing. Etc etc
New wheels.
Sanded the car down, going to be dropped off at the paint shop this weekend.
Brand new JDM trunk cuz why not.
Vibrant resonator and OEM v6 eclipse muffler.
Modded valve cover/rebranded and armored oil pan.
OEM evo 8 baffle/scrape plate, redid my interior. Looks fressshhh. Just using the car as storage atm so ignore the clutter.
I'm sure I missed stuff, but I posted lots of pics.
Little background. I let the car sit for over a year. Probably before the last update with bent rods, since I posted that after the car was running again.
One day 2-3 months back i got the itch to work on it again and here we are
I have stuff coming from Sri Lanka, Japan, Australia, the U.K. and right here from Vegas (Merrill Performance)
So I'll have pics of all that once it comes in. Most is performance oriented, But a few things are super hella JDM rareness.
Latest pics atm.
Here's the lip repaired primered
Lip and bumper like new
Other miscellaneous pieces.

Thanks for the kind words! Mine is cooler tho! Haha.
Here it is! Still have to put it together, deal was I take it all apart and try my best to sand and I put it all back together. He did all his prep but i did this to save on cost, and even then it was a decent chunk of change, but I'm super happy with it. I got my door handles back on, along with the mirrors and all the seals on the drivers side for today, took longer than I expected. Please excuse the clutter, basically used the car as storage for everything I removed both inside and out.
I'll have more pics once I have it all together! :)
Also, I have yet to see my car in the sun. As soon as we pushed it out, it started drizzling and was cloudy the rest of the day. The closest I got was the first pic where it was a foot away from the sun
Eagerly awaiting tomorrow!

Installed my fender braces and wired up my sidemarkers. This color looks great under the sun.

How do the fender braces mount? Do you have to put plates on stock holes in the subframe or what? Could you take some pictures, and give me a tube diameter? I don't think anyone makes them for the 8g, and I could definitely change that.

Here's a pic. Uses those 4 bolts and you drill out the 2 dots.
The evo 4-6, and Mirage have this section reinforced. It's like 2 plates you drill through
I can honestly say these make a big diff. I've had them before on my old sedan and you really feel a difference in braking, and going over dips. The front end doesn't dip anymore either. I'll find out about size, I had actually planned on having some made for my Galant down the road so I would be interested

I LOVE 90's JDM cloth interior designs, they're just not like that anymore.

Getting there. A few more things exterior wise left to install

Had my camber set at -2 all around. Luckily no rubbing issues, the coilovers and fender roll are doing their job

Well exterior wise, besides needing to order new drip moldings, it's done. Might add something later down the road, but for now I'm happy. Added oem/jdm rear pods and rain guards and swapped out my tails for a better condition set I had.

I like that so much. I would kill for one of my cars to be this clean.... *Sigh* one day
